XP Deus Cover Mod
Though it’s never happened to my AT Pro, some people have reported the control box breaking away from the shaft.
I’ve seen the following preventive or reactive repair and wanted to share this one by Ken Donahue.
Materials needed:
2 1/2″ PVC clamp with
#6 X 1″ stainless sheet metal screws.
Piece of rubber from an old car inner tube to take up some slack and make it tight.
Total cost, $3.50.
You’re replacing slightly shorter screws already in the waterproof control box so you aren’t doing any drilling into the box causing it to leak. Still, I recommend doing this with some waterproof silicon gel around the screws to be sure.
Paint the clamps black, and it will almost look factory installed.
