How do you spot a fake Garrett Pro Pointer? This guy bought a fake, had it certified as fake, and made a nice video describing what to look for. Some good advice if you are shopping for one on eBay.

Basically you should look for:

– it should turn on with 2 beeps not one
– button is a lot stiffer on the fake
– Garrett logo is yellow and supposed to be orange
– The words Pro Pointer on fake are a bit thicker
– on the fake it is difficult to screw on battery cap

If the serial number starts with a 4 it’s a fake for sure
